Tintype Intensive with Andrew Wardlow
Next session to be announced.
Join photographer Andrew Wardlow for a full day workshop on the timeless wet plate collodion (tintype) process. Limited to 4 participants, this is an opportunity to dive into the history of photography, experiment with shooting large format cameras, experience the magic of the darkroom, and come away with several one-of-a-kind tintypes that you created.
After sharing the history of this 19th century process, Andrew will lead you through:
~ Preparing your plate by pouring the collodion onto the metal.
~ Composing and shooting using a 4 x 5 camera, working outdoors with natural light.
~ Developing and fixing your images in the darkroom.
~ Varnishing your finished plates to protect them for longevity.
Saturday, 9am - 5pm (break for an hour at noon for lunch)
$450
Class limit is 4.
*For this workshop you will need to bring a pair of safety goggles. All other materials are included. Wearing old clothes and/or an apron is also recommended!
